The judge^s decision has been made as to the eight Young Friers through to the semi-final of the Drywite/NFFF Young Fish Frier of the Year competition 2013.

The semi-finalists will now compete for a place in the final during a day of practical judging at the NFFF training school on the 10th September.

In no particular order, the semi-finalists are:-

Thomas Hughes, Harbourside Fish & Chips, Plymouth Richard Colman Ord, Colman^s Of South Shields Leigh Foster, Pantrini^s, Whitley Bay Carlyn Kearney, Frankie^s Fish And Chips, Shetlands Cem Oktem, Packet Bridge Village Fish & Chip Shop, Bolton Le Sands, Lancashire Dean Chappelhow, Angel Lane Chippie, Penrith Lee Sharp, Pisces, Fleetwood Matthew Martin, Mother Hubbard^s, Swaffham The top three and overall winner for 2013 will be announced at the National Fish & Chip Award^s, a glitzy evening awards ceremony at the Lancaster London hotel on 24 January 2013.   The current holder is Zohaib Hussain of Zero Plus Fish Bar, Cardiff.

Young Fish Frier of the Year Judge and NFFF Vice President Mark Drummond commented, "This year^s competition again saw very high standards and it was encouraging to see a mix of ‘old hands^ and ‘new faces^ getting through to the final eight”.
