WHITBY ON WHEELS: WHITBY’S FINEST FISH & CHIPS VISIT V-FEST!

Article Date: 2015-08-20

V-Festival revellers will get a taste of the seaside in Staffordshire this weekend when The Whitby Fish & Chip Company mobile trailer takes to the road at its first-ever music festival.

The Whitby Fish and Chip Company’s MSC-certified, own-recipe battered haddock and high quality chips will be music to the ears of Weston Park festival goers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – and the Fusco family behind the trailer have pulled out all the stops to ensure it’s Whitby’s finest.

The succulent sustainable haddock is the first catch for new Whitby built fishing boat ‘Guardian Angell’ – hand built by historic boat builders Parkol in Whitby harbour – and has been hand filleted by local fish merchants Dennis Crooks before landing in Staffordshire.

Owned and run by the Fusco family, who have 50 years in the business – including the award-winning Quayside takeaway and restaurant, voted Britain’s best in 2014 – The Whitby Fish and Chip Company trailer is the only Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified catering trailer in the UK, and will be using its unique high-volume frying range to serve up thousands of portions of fish and chips at the festival.

"This is our first ever festival trip – and bringing a taste of Whitby to the West Midlands will give a whole new meaning to the term ‘fast food’!” says Adrian Fusco, from The Whitby Fish and Chip Company. "We’re passionate about giving people the opportunity to try proper Yorkshire fish and chips and our haddock has not only been caught by a Whitby boat, but processed by a local fish merchant and cooked to order by a Whitby family – you can’t get more Yorkshire than that!”
