Lincoln fish and chip shop venue for engagement proposal.

Woodhall Spa Golf Club green-keeper Danny Cross wanted to surprise Sharon Richardson, his partner of 10 years. 

After a Christmas shopping trip in Lincoln the couple decided to go for a meal before travelling home. Sharon chose The Elite Fish and Chip Shop inTritton Road. Little did she know what was just around the corner... 

The reason behind choosing the award-winning shop was that Danny^s sister had been in labour at Lincoln County Hospital previously and was told to take a break from the hospital as the baby wasn^t arriving . A visit to The Elite must have been what the doctor ordered and she loved her meal. Sharon was so impressed she really wanted to see just how good the fish and chips were. She said, "It was amazing. The food was great and the staff were so wonderful.”

As they sat by the Christmas tree in the restaurant, Danny popped the question to Sharon’s total surprise.  “It was a lovely moment,” she said. The wedding date and venue - in 2014 - is undecided.

After hearing of the romance in their restaurant, owners Adrian and Donna Tweedale thought it would be great to invite the couple back and to give them £100 worth of shopping vouchers to use in Lincoln as a thank-you for choosing The Elite for their memorable engagement. They could also try their delicious festive battered mince pies and ice cream!  

What do you think their wedding meal will be? The odds-on favourite is, of course, fish and chips!
