Article Date: 2013-05-15

NORWEGIAN SEAFOOD COUNCIL ANNOUNCE NEW UK REPRESENTATIVE

The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of a dedicated UK representative, Jack Robert Møller.

Jack Robert is due to start his new role on 18th June and will be based in London. Jack Robert’s appointment and the opening of the UK office is a first for the NSC and cements its commitment to the UK market. The decision to have a UK presence was taken following many years of successful marketing activity, managed previously from the NSC’s Paris office.

Johan Kvalheim, current UK Director of the NSC, will be leaving the role on 1st July 2013 to take over as Managing Director of MSD Animal Health Norway. Johan is currently based in Paris and will relocate to Bergen, Norway and start his new position on 29th June. In the Norwegian seafood industry, MSD Animal Health Norway is particularly known for its work on vaccination against pancreas disease in fish.

Johan commented: “I will be sad to leave the NSC, I have enjoyed my time with the Council and particularly enjoyed working with the UK market. It is now time to move to pastures anew, and I am looking forward to the exciting changes and challenges that lie ahead.

“The new office marks an important touchstone in our achievements to date in the UK market, whilst putting us in a great position to grow our UK exports. With Jack Robert at the helm I have every confidence the NSC will strive ahead creating more benefits and opportunities for its exporters, importers, partners and distributors.”

Jack Robert has a wealth of relevant experience for the role, having already spent two years as Marketing Manager for salmon at the NSC. He has held various roles within the seafood industry including working for Norway’s Fishermen’s Sales Organisation and most recently as General Manager of Lyngen Reker, a large Norwegian prawn processor. Jack Robert has a Master’s Degree in Fisheries Science from Norges Fiskerihøyskole and is eager to step into the new role to apply his expertise to the UK market.

Jack Robert stated: “I am very excited about the imminent move to the UK and leading the NSC in its quest to make Seafood from Norway the seafood of choice for British consumers. The fishing industry is very close to my heart and I am looking forward to sharing my passion with a country that so appreciates the importance of good quality and sustainably sourced fish.”

The NSC works with industry stakeholders to raise awareness and drive sales of seafood from Norway across sectors, including grocery, fish & chip shops and HoReCa. Exporters, importers, distributors and retailers will benefit from an office with a specialised understanding of the UK market, designed to cater more specifically to the UK’s needs.
