The Fishermen’s Mission has launched a national campaign to highlight the dangers that UK fishermen face as they carry out their daily work.
Given the hashtag of #justsaying, the campaign follows a sad turn of events recently which has seen nine fishermen die over the past four weeks while two bodies are still missing at sea.
The highlight of the campaign is a full page advert in today’s London edition of The Metro newspaper, an unprecedented move for the Mission but one it hopes will try and focus the attention of the national media to the dangers UK fishermen face.
We encourage fish and chip shops to become involved and throw their support behind the campaign by visiting http://www.fishermensmission.org.uk/, downloading a poster version of the advert and displaying it in their shops. We also encouraged fish and chip shops to follow the Fishermen’s Mission’s campaign on social media and re-tweet/share its posts on Twitter and Facebook using the #justsaying hashtag.
