Fishermen’s Families - we can help you

Article Date: 2020-05-05

The Fishermen’s Mission is the fishermen’s charity. For nearly 140 years the Fishermen’s Mission has supported fishermen and their families across calm and stormy sea. This is still true today.

The coronavirus has taken its toll on the UK fishing industry and the Fishermen’s Mission is appealing to fishing families who may be struggling to get in touch.

Ali Godfrey, Director of Business Development for the Fishermen’s Mission, speaking directly to fishermen’s families says: “We know how difficult life is at the moment. We also know that asking for help is never easy. Today I am appealing to fishermen, to their wives and partners and to wider members of fishermen’s families who are facing difficulties to make a call to the Fishermen’s Mission. We are always here to listen and give practical guidance. The support we can give you may make all the difference. Together, we can get through this crisis, so do not hesitate, call us today.”

The Fishermen’s Mission may also be able to access further financial support and grants specifically to help fishing families and fishermen’s children.

Ali Godfrey comments: “Working alongside other maritime charities, the Fishermen’s Mission can access bespoke funding and means of support that are not available elsewhere, particularly for fishermen’s children. Many fishing families with children have already contacted us for support so please do not struggle through this crisis on your own. Pick up the phone and give us a call, we are here to help you and your family.”
