Chip shops needed for marketing trials!

Article Date: 2013-08-19

Do you run a forward thinking chip shop and want to enhance your sales and marketing activity? Then Potato Council wants to hear from you!

The organisation behind Chip Week, which will run from 17 – 23 February 2014, is seeking entrepreneurial chippies to take part in dedicated marketing and promotional trials.

Potato Council is looking to recruit shops, in different regions of the UK, to take part in various activities, such as the introduction of promotional leaflets, loyalty cards, direct mail and discount voucher schemes. Each chip shop involved will be provided with on-going marketing advice and assistance to implement the chosen activity, as well as the opportunity to benefit from a real boost to business.

Stu Baker, Chip Week campaign manager for Potato Council, said: “We know from extensive research that takeaway customers are still looking for quality, yet value for money, convenience and choice is increasingly important. We want to give the chip shop sector, which is ideally placed to meet all those needs, additional marketing insight to ensure their businesses can compete with alternative food offers.

“We conducted small scale trials in the run up to Chip Week 2013 that provided us with some very useful feedback. We now want to roll this out to a wider audience to gather more robust results that we can share with the industry.”

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Stu Baker on 02476 478 775 or email stu.baker@potato.ahdb.org.uk
