NFFF Director, Josette Foster has been taking part in the MSC pre awards activities down in Plymouth this week. 

This started with a networking event at Rockfish in Plymouth followed the morning after with a visit to the Admiral Gordon fishing vessel, owned by Inter Fish located in Plymouth.

This was a great opportunity to meet the crew and learn about the British fishing industry. A real highlight for Josette is hearing about the apprentice programme and learning about the highly skilled methods of repairing fishing nets.

The Marine Management Organisation were also on board to talk about the inspections that take place on board including testing the size of holes in fishing nets.

The variety of species caught by the crew on the Admiral Gordon was most impressive and really showcased their skills and knowledge.

To close this excellent event we were treated to sardine bagels which were absolutely delicious. 

The MSC and ASC awards take place tonight in the stunning location of The Box Museum and Gallery in Plymouth. We wish all finalists the best of luck for this evening.
