Where to find the best in sustainability, quality, customer service (as recognised by National Fish and Chip Awards 2025.)
May 23, 2025This week, NFFF President Andrew Crook travelled to Northern Ireland for several important meetings to strengthen our ties with members and other key figures from the fish and chip industry across the region.

The visit began with an NFFF members’ meeting at Fish City in Belfast, hosted by NFFF Northern Ireland Regional Director, John Lavery. This was our first in-person regional meeting in Northern Ireland since the pandemic, and it was fantastic to reconnect face-to-face with friers from across the country.

The session covered a wide range of issues, including those unique to Northern Ireland. We were encouraged by the positive turnout and intend to hold more regional meetings in the future to ensure members’ voices are heard and supported.
Later in the day, Andrew and John attended a networking event at Stormont hosted by the Northern Ireland Food To Go Association. We would like to extend our thanks to Kiera Campbell, Chairperson of the Association, Diana Armstrong MLA (Chair of the Food-To-Go All-Party Group) for putting on the event.
This was a great opportunity to explore how the NFFF and Food To Go Association can work together to address shared challenges across the takeaway and foodservice sector.
We also met with several key suppliers to the fish and chip industry. The focus of this session was on how the NFFF can better support the supply chain, encourage more collaboration across the industry, and help secure a more sustainable future for everyone.
Talking about the trip Andrew said “Northern Ireland often feels isolated so it was great to get the opportunity to meet with operators and suppliers face to face. We are committed to ensuring all our members feel supported and represented and we look forward to organising more regional meetings. When you get people in the same room talking great things happen.”
Would you like the NFFF to visit your region next? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch via mail@nfff.co.uk.
