Wetherby Whaler Guiseley and York welcomes Mikron Theatre Company to perform its fishy tale

Article Date: 2015-04-21

The Wetherby Whaler in Guiseley and York will welcome the acclaimed Mikron Theatre Company for an evening of the very best in British theatre and food on 6 and 7 May.

The much-loved Yorkshire fish and chip chain is proud to present the comedy ‘One of Each’, which will be performed at the restaurants by the renowned theatre company.

The show, written by award-winning Playwright and Actor, Deborah McAndrew, best known for her role as Angie Freeman in Coronation Street, is a tale of storms at sea, saucy secrets and sibling rivalry. It centres around two rival fish and chip establishments owned by siblings who are battling it out for the coveted title of ‘Golden Fish Fork.’

Established in 1972, The Mikron Theatre Company tours with a cast of four actors and throughout its 44 years has performed for more than 312,000 people.

The company tours the country on a narrowboat in the summer and by road in the autumn, performing at a whole host of quirky venues, including allotments, dry docks and pubs.

Tickets for the show in York are still available and are priced at £15 per person, which includes the evening’s entertainment and a renowned Wetherby Whaler fish and chip supper in the interval.

Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.mikron.org.uk and from the Wetherby Whaler York restaurant on Ings Lane Business Park, 01904 784500.
