Vegetarian menu is a catch at Fish Box

Article Date: 2018-07-11

Fish Box, the express style fish and chip restaurant and takeaway with outlets on Langborne Road in Whitby and Bay Bank in Robin Hoods Bay, has launched a new vegetarian menu.

The new menu was originally introduced as a series of limited edition dishes to mark National Vegetarian Week in May, but has since been introduced permanently after staff were inundated with positive feedback from customers.

As a result, Fish Box, which is owned by Fusco’s of Whitby, has launched five new dishes that are suitable for vegetarians, including grilled halloumi and a cauliflower, kale and smoked cheddar burger.

Adrian Fusco comments: “It was only a few months ago that we switched to using vegetable oil in all of our fryers in our Fish Box outlets, to meet demand from customers looking for vegetarian friendly dishes. Then we decided to go one step further and introduce a special menu to mark National Vegetarian Week. The meals went down a treat, with many visitors requesting that we make them a permanent addition to our menu – which we have done!”

Starting from £1.50, the new menu also includes a spicy bean burger, Quorn Sausage (in both adult and children’s portions) and a salad box, as well as traditional fish and chips cooked in vegetable oil.

Fusco’s of Whitby is a family run business, with fish and chip outlets in Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay including Quayside, Royal Fisheries, Fish Box Whitby and Fish Box Robin Hoods Bay; as well as the Whitby Fish and Chips catering trailer.
