Adande
were proud to attend the, Insider Media Made in the UK Awards 2015, after their success in
the regional heats. The Awards celebrate
the very best in the UK manufacturing industry and are held in association with UK Trade &
Investment.
The evening brought together the
winners ofInsider^s
regional Made in… Awards and "honoured the cream of the UK^s manufacturing
industry”.
Having won the Made in the East and Central England Award in the Innovation Manufacturing category Adande
went forward to the final Made in the UKevent.
The event took place on 9 July at St George^s Hall in Liverpool and was compèred by broadcaster Colin Murray, with keynote speeches from Bob Gilbert, Chairman of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, alongside Chris Brown, Director of Marketing Liverpool.
On the night, the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation / Creative Design Award was won by Rolls-Royce (Yorkshire), with Adande being Highly Commended as runner up.
Adande’s Chairman, Nigel Bell, said,"It’s testimony to the hard work of the Adande team and our manufacturing operations to find our revolutionary refrigeration being understood, not only in terms of the foodservice industry but within the manufacturing sector too. The investment from concept to market for any manufacturer is challenging, not least for SMEs in the UK; but in order to drive forward sales and awareness into international territories companies need opportunities to have that recognised.Coming runner up to a world class company like Rolls Royce is no mean feat, and the quality of the association is something our company can be proud to shout about. You could say taking a ‘back seat’ to Rolls Royce is no rough ride!”
Adande were similarly buoyed by the factory visit in April from the Secretary of State, The Rt Hon Philip Hammond, together Conservative MP for Waveney, Peter Aldous, recognising the successes and challenges that exist to drive innovative patented products to market globally.
Bell continues… "Getting such attention from
both government and the highly respected individuals on the judging panel [for
Made in the UK], gives credibility not only to our existing products, but to
the continued innovation and rollout of unique energy and food-saving solutions
that meet the eco-credentials for future customer markets and environmental targets.
Our latest innovation Aircell® - designed to save energy countering
‘cold aisle syndrome’ by improving customer accessibility to refrigerated
products without the barrier of doors - will enhance the retail shopping experience
for customers. It has therefore piqued
the interest of major supermarkets and attracted significant government funding
to develop our facility and attract new jobs…With such eminent attention this year, you could say that 2015 continues
to be a ‘rewarding’ year for Adande on many fronts.”
