Peel Tech joins the NFFF as the latest NFFF Associate Member to benefit NFFF members!

Article Date: 2015-12-16

The National Federation of Fish Friers are delighted to announce Peel Tech as the latest organisation to become an NFFF Associate Member.

Our associate members play an essential role in providing products and services to the fish frying industry and in supporting the work of the NFFF in working towards the goal of maintaining fish and chips as the UK’s Number 1 takeaway meal.

Peel Tech have designed and created a revolutionary new innovative filteration system which complies with the new SEPA 2014/2016 Act regarding drainage pollution. The Peel Tech fully complies with the Act and the system can help recycle all your waste and keep your drains unblocked and helps reduce odours.

How it works

The Peel Tech works by taking the waste from a typical potato peeler separating the waste skin and compacting the potato starch to allow the operator to easily remove the waste for recycle use.

The Peel Tech unit will then power flush the water down your drains keeping them free from waste and starch deposits.

"Our Associate Members play an essential role in providing products and services to the fish frying industry and in supporting the work of the NFFF in working towards the goal of maintaining fish and chips as the UK’s Number 1 takeaway meal”,said Gregg Howard, President of NFFF.

The National Federation of Fish Friers is looking forward to working with Peel Tech into the foreseeable future for the benefit of our members.

Facts (Facts provided by Peel Tec)

  • The average chip shop peels 10 x 25 kg bags of main crop potatoes a day = around 420 kg of potato peel and starch goes down the drain per week.
  • A sieve is not good enough as it can^t stop the potato starch going into the drainage system and this equates to approx 1/3 of the total waste.
