North Street Chip Shop in Forfar is delighted to announce that it has gained

the Marine Stewardship Council’s seal of approval for it’s haddock.

MSC certification ensures that the fish served has come from a sustainable

fish stock that is effectively managed and caught in a way that minimises

environmental impact. Every link in the supply chain is checked to ensure that

the MSC label is only displayed on seafood from an MSC certified

sustainable fishery.

Only 12 other Fish and Chip shops in the UK have gained this recognition.

Owner Stuart Atkinson says, “What this means for our customers is they can

buy a fish supper from us and be confident that the fish has come from a

sustainable fishing ground and been caught in a sustainable way.”

purchasing sustainably sourced fish.”
