NFFF / MSC Roundtable - Round Up

Article Date: 2021-04-08

Article written by Loren Hiller, Senior Commercial Officer UK and Ireland.

Thank you to those who were able to attend the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and NFFF roundtable to discuss the MSC response to the Netflix documentary, Seaspiracy. If you weren’t able to attend, you can find the recording of the webinar below and a record of the questions and answers asked during the round table. If you have any further questions, or your question remains unanswered, please email Loren Hiller from the MSC directly on

The sustainable seafood movement has grown over decades and is a journey involving many committed partners and organisations who are passionate about saving our oceans. The MSC are proud of the 400+ fisheries certified to the MSC fisheries standard globally and the difference they are making to conserve our oceans. We believe our independent, market-based programme has a transformational role to play, delivering real and lasting change to the way our oceans are fished, by empowering seafood consumers to reward best practice.

To ensure fish and chips for future generations and to safeguard the longevity of the nation’s favourite takeaway, we must continue to work together to support sustainably managed fisheries that maintain healthy stocks and minimise their impact on the environment. We know our combined efforts will continue to drive change and the MSC will continue to collaborate and work closely together with the industry going forward, safeguarding our oceans for future generations. Our focus will be developing further communications assets and the MSC will also look to host another roundtable in the next quarter, to answer any more questions that you may have.
