New NFFF Training Manager announced as they recruit Richard Wardell

The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) is pleased to announce that Richard Wardell, (Seafish Fishermen’s Training Manager), has been appointed to the position of Training Manager, effective from 05 January 2015.

Richard has worked for Seafish for 11 years in various roles covering different sectors of the seafood industry including the fish and chip sector. He has developed training programmes, judged different categories for the National Fish & Chip Awards and conducted numerous inspections for the Friers Quality Award scheme during his career with Seafish. Prior to this he worked for Sainsbury’s with one of his roles seeing him working in a team to deliver a change programme focussed on enhancing customer service. Speaking on the appointment, NFFF President Gregg Howard said,"The process of finding a Training Manager has been measured, far reaching and exhaustive. In Richard we have our preferred candidate. His experience in the fish and chip trade and his wider knowledge in training and development in the industry make him exceptionally well equipped to lead the National Federation of Fish Friers through its continued evolution.”

Richard Wardell said, "I am delighted to take up the position of Training Manager at the National Federation of Fish Friers. The vision of the NFFF Board together with some of the previous work already completed by the NFFF, make this opportunity absolutely compelling. The National Federation of Fish Friers has incredible potential to be fulfilled in terms of training and I very much look forward to playing my part to ensure that happens by renewing working relationships with individuals who I already know and by developing new associations too.”

Richard worked with the National Federation of Fish Friers to develop our existing training manual for the NFFF Complete Guide to Fish & Chip Management and was also involved in training the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award scheme team of assessors. His expertise in helping the fish and chip industry to raise standards is second to none.

The National Federation of Fish Friers will be announcing exciting plans for the training school based at our head office based in Leeds in the coming months so keep checking the NFFF website along with our social media pages and the Fish Friers Review for all the latest news.
