Local fish and chip shop, The Hi-Tide Fish Bar in Leicester, has been awarded the Pukka Pies Fish and Chip Shop of the Month Award.

Pukka Pies selling Fish and Chip shops throughout the UK have been competing for the prestigious monthly award. This month the Enderby based Chippy beat off the competition and has been named as one of the nation’s finest Fish and Chip shops.

The Hi-Tide has longstanding members of staff that have served the local community for over 25 years. 

Proprietor, Chrystalla Costa, has overseen the success of the business over two different premises having originally opened its doors back in 1987 before moving to its current location in 1995.

Mrs Costa said; “We are extremely proud to win Pukka Pies Fish and Chip Shop of the month award.  We have sold Pukka Pies for a very long time and they have always been extremely popular with our customers both at our original shop and now here in Enderby.  To be receiving this award from such a well-known company as Pukka Pies on their 50th year in business is amazing”.

Family owned business Pukka Pies are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2013 and currently serve the UK, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Malta, Gibraltar and France with a network of National and European distributors along with their own multi-drop delivery vehicles in the Midlands.

Pukka Pies supply a range of pies and pasties – including Steak and Kidney, Chicken and Mushroom and Steak and Ale varieties – to thousands of fish and chip shops across the country.
