NEODA CELEBRATES THE RETURN OF NATIONAL FISH & CHIP DAY!

Article Date: 2015-12-16

Following the resounding success of last year’s inaugural National Fish and Chip Day, NEODA is delighted to announce that Fish and Chip lovers across the UK are coming together again to celebrate the nation’s favourite dish on Friday, June 3rd 2016.

National Fish and Chip Day 2016 is set to be even bigger than last year as it brings together everyone involved in creating this iconic British dish; from Fish and Chip shops, pub chains, restaurants, retailers, to the fishermen and farmers who provide the sustainable and natural ingredients needed to create this family favourite.

The national event, now a firm fixture in the industry’s diary, is once again being championed by trade organisation, The National Edible Oil Distributors’ Association, who represent packers and distributors of oils and fats in the UK. NEODA President, Gary Lewis, comments,"National Fish and Chip Day celebrates the stars who work hard to bring Brits their favourite traditional takeaway. We want to bring the whole industry together to celebrate and showcase the great British institution that is Fish and Chips.”

NEODA launched the first National Fish and Chip Day in June 2015 and it was a huge success.Over 500 shops registered on the NEODA website for point of sale materials, including posters, bunting and leaflets and a marketing toolkit with games, competitions and press release templates. Social media also played a key role in the day with the #nationalfishandchipday trending during the afternoon.

For National Fish and Chip Day 2016, NEODA will be providing lucky Fish and Chip shops with marketing packs containing everything they need to build a real buzz around the event and help them get as much publicity in their local area as possible.Details of how to obtain one of these packs are to be announced in the New Year.
