UK consumers powered by P&G Professional’s grease busting range Deepio crown Danny’s Fish and Chips in Surrey ‘Britain’s Best Chippy’.

27 May 2014, London, UK – A staple of British High Streets up and down the country, fish and chip shops have been feeding the British nation for decades. And let’s face it there is nothing quite as nostalgic as the smell of fish and chips to take us back to our family trips at the seaside! 

To celebrate fish and chip shop owners putting the Great into Great Britain, Procter and Gamble Professional are proud to announce Danny’s Fish and Chip shop in Old Coulsdon, Surrey as the winner of their Britain’s Best Chippy competition. Powered by powerful degreasing solution Deepio, a favourite amongst fish and chip shop owners, the winning fish and chip shop received the most unique votes against other fish and chip shops competing in the competition. 

To celebrate their new title, Danny’s Fish and Chips were awarded with a £1,000 cheque and a certificate.  Danny Tevfik, the local businessman was overjoyed to have won the national competition.

Danny’s Fish & Chips is very much a family business, with three generations of the Tevfik family having now worked at the shop. Commenting on his win, Danny said, "I am absolutely thrilled to have won the competition, and touched by the support of our local customers to actively go out and vote for us.  Our staff have been fantastic and we work as a family. We haven’t entered a competition like this in a long time and we are extremely proud of our achievement."
