“High Five” For Yorkshire Chippie After Making Into Travel Site’s Hall Of Fame
Article Date: 2015-05-29
A North Yorkshire fish & chip restaurant’s glowing reviews have helped it pick up a top honour from the world’s largest travel website for the fifth consecutive year.
TripAdvisor – the travel and hospitality review site - has yet again awarded Scotts of Helmsley with its Certificate of Excellence, which recognises businesses that consistently earn top ratings from visitors.
And, in recognition for continuously achieving this high standard, TripAdvisor has also welcomed Scotts into its "Hall of Fame” – an accolade reserved for those businesses that meet the high standards of the Certificate of Excellence for at least five consecutive years.
With a total of 297 reviews, the chippie has been successfully ranked as one of the top restaurants in the area, winning particular praise for its gluten free options. More than 80 per cent of the reviewers have "recommended” Scotts, with more than 200 foodies describing it as "excellent”.
In the last year Scotts was presented with the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Fish and Chip Quality Award – putting them in the top 2.5 per cent of chippies in the country, as well as adding a 110-seat sister site just off of the A64 near Bilborough.
Scotts managing director Tony Webster said: "This past year has been fantastic for Scotts and our latest accolade from TripAdvisor is like a ‘high five’ to each and every one of our team, without whom we could not have achieved this award.
"We are naturally delighted to have received the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor for the fifth year, and would like to thank all our customers who taken the time and trouble to write about us.
"This is a great achievement for us as only the top ten per cent of business on TripAdvisor are eligible to receive the Certificate of Excellence and far fewer still are admitted to the Hall of Fame.
"At Scotts we pride ourselves on consistently providing the best quality fish and chips and exemplary levels of customer service, these awards prove that not only are we meeting our own high standards, but those of our discerning customers too. We hope to be winning these awards for many more years to come.”
