Hewigo and Kingfisher show the value of loyalty

Article Date: 2016-04-12

Salford Shopping City is the home of Kingfisher Fish & Chips, a busy take-away and café which has been in the Cartwright family for over 30 years. It has recently had a major refurbishment and is now in the capable hands of sisters Angela and Helen Cartwright.

At the heart of the refurbishment is a new 3-pan Hewigo Advantage wall range together with a free standing electric wet well bain marie with pudding steamer. Replacing an old island model the new range has given the staff far more space behind the counter.

The Cartwright family have a long and successful association with Hewigo through Angela and Helen’s father Phil who has bought several ranges from Midlands based Hewigo over the last few years. Now Phil’s two hard working children are making a real go of the Salford outlet and another in nearby Altrincham.

"We feel we are really part of the community here,”says Angela. "Our customers are very loyal and many we can count as friends. Everything is made to order and we have special prices between 4.00 and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Already we can see the benefit of the transformation in increased business.”

The loyalty extends to the relationship with Hewigo."We have always found their ranges exceptional value for money and the service they have given us is second to none,” adds Helen.

"It’s very satisfying when customers keep coming back time and time again and even more so when the loyalty is passed on to the next generation,” says Phillip Purkiss, Managing Director of Hewigo UK.
