Fish Friers

Hanbury^s fundraising - Sunday 22nd June

Article Date: 2014-06-13

This year, David Hanbury is hosting the 8th Fish and Chips on the Downs Music Festival on Sunday 22nd June. Since he first started the event, he has raised over £60,000 for local charities by putting on a fantastic day full of live music, beautiful views and of course delicious fish and chips.

This year he wants to make it even bigger and get the support of not only the local customers, local businesses and friends and family, but of individuals and businesses in the Trade in the UK.

This year, the music festival is in aid of THHN, Torbay Holiday Helpers Network, which is an amazing and truly inspiring local charity who provide local holidays for the families of bereaved children and for families who have a child or parent with a terminal illness. Sometimes these holidays can in fact be the last family holiday they can have together. More information on the charity can be found here: http://www.thhn.co.uk

The day runs from 12pm until 10pm and tickets can be bought in advance from Hanbury^s by calling on 01803 314616 or popping in to the shop in Babbacombe, Torquay.

Bands this year include the Mama Stones House Band, The Land of the Giants, The Stone Angels and Ollie Stephens and The Savoir Faire Band amongst many other local talented artists. The Krankies will also be making a special appearance.

SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE: THE KRANKIES

The concept is simple: buy some of Hanbury^s gorgeous fish and chips, take them up to the beautiful Babbacombe Downs overlooking Lyme Bay, and sit back, relax and enjoy fantastic music, have a drink from the well-stocked bar, and have an amazing time! There will even be children^s entertainment to keep the little ones amused!

David really hopes that people from the trade can come along and support him and the fantastic charity. He would also be of course very grateful for any sponsorship, gratuities and donations to make sure we raise even more money for THHN this year!
