Article Date: 2015-03-11

On Sunday 1st March 2015, FRY I.T. made its debut to the South coast, gracing the iconic Bournemouth BIC with an action- packed day for the Fish & Chip world!

The event saw over 1000 visitors and exhibitors visit the BIC, which attracted over 250 shops locally and around the UK, some travelling from Wales and others even travelling from as far as Lincoln!

FRY I.T. 2015 featured a wide range of exhibitors from food products, fish, fats and oils and packaging to range manufacturers, equipment and industry specialist services. The day was packed with offers and show promotions, product and trade innovations and the ever popular, Drywite Equipment Shop, ensuring visitors enjoyed a fun, informative and beneficial day for their business.

There was plenty of cooking demonstrations and food tasting on offer, with frying range’s on the go and live cook-ups, with the Q Prestige stand turning on their very own frying range to wow the crowds with freshly cooked fish and chips, fried by Friars Pride customer Mark Fisher, Fishers of Hunstanton.

Captains of the JFK and Rammi vessels flew in from Iceland and the Faroe Islands to enjoy the show, with customers taking the opportunity to meet with their Captain and have a professional photograph taken for their shop or restaurant.

A racing theme was present, from a racing car simulator to Friars Pride’s very own ‘The Stig’ roaming the venue to highlight the benefits of the new Hook & Fish formed tray that has taken the packaging world by storm, wholly biodegradable and perfect for portion control. The Hook & Fish stand also featured a custom made racing car created entirely out of Hook & Fish packaging!

It was the perfect opportunity for customers to meet with the Friars Pride team and with the local Poole depot’s Telesales and Sales team, which was acquired in July 2013. From one family business to another, Friars Pride ensured that the day was a hit for the whole family, providing children with free balloon modelling, face painting and magic!

The FRY I.T. seminar room was once again a success, attracting fish and chip shop owners and employees to a range of live seminars by industry relevant presenters. The day’s seminar schedule included:

·Rachel Tweedale of Elite Fish and Chips presented ‘Young Fish Frier of the Year’

·Michael Cuschieri of Poppies Fish & Chips, London presented ‘How to Earn More Money from Social Media’

·Des Anastasiouand Lesley Graves of Burton Road Chippy presented ‘Staff training and Development’

Make sure not to miss FRY I.T. 2016, where FRY I.T. ‘comes home’ to the Peterborough Arena – details will be announced later this year.
