The NFFF would like to congratulate the finalists of the "Marketing Innovation Award" category, part of the 2014 National Fish & Chip Awards, organised by Seafish.
The three finalists are:
The Chippy in Antrim, County Antrim. Quayside in Whitby, North Yorkshire. Poppies Fish & Chips in Spitalfields, London.
The three finalists will be invited to the Lancaster Hotel, London, for the Oscar-style award ceremony to be held in January 2014 and where the overall winner of The Marketing and Innovation Award will be announced.
Sponsored by The Q Partnership (comprising Henry Colbeck Limited, Friars Pride, Doubles Food and Drink, and V. A. Whitley), and open to fish and chip businesses throughout the UK, the Marketing Innovation Award is designed to showcase the use of creative marketing and promotions techniques and reward those businesses that have used innovative thinking while developing their communication strategies.
Duncan McLean, Chairman of The Q Partnership Marketing Team, said: “The Q Partnership is focused on improving quality and raising the profile of traditional fish and chip takeaway and restaurant businesses.
“By sponsoring The Marketing Innovation Award, we hope to encourage fish and chip takeaways and restaurants to regard marketing as a critical component of their business strategy. The three shortlisted finalists have shown themselves to be creative forward thinkers and they are setting the standard for their industry peers.”
Paul Williams, CEO at Seafish, said: “The Marketing Innovation Award is one of the most interesting categories within The National Fish & Chip Awards. Year on year we are presented with some truly unique and inspiring communications strategies and these three finalists have again set the bar very high.
“With competition between food outlets fiercer than ever, an effective marketing strategy can be instrumental in the success of a business and our finalists have shown real ingenuity and creative flair in what they’ve come up with.”
