Article Date: 2014-03-06

The Elite delivers to 25th Anniversary charities

As the final day arrived for the collection of the total amount of money raised in the 25th Anniversary year in business for the Elite Fish and Chip Company in Lincolnshire, an amazing figure of £27,489.42 has been raised through the support of customers and hard work by all the teams at each of the three Elite fish and chip shop units in Ruskington, Lincoln and Sleaford over the last year.

The five chosen charities of St Barnabas Hospice, Lives, Sleaford Scouts, Kids Strut and RNLI Skegness Lifeboat, all accepted cheques each to the sum of £5,000 from owner Adrian Tweedale at the Tritton Road restaurant in Lincoln. The extra amount raised above the target total of £25,000 would be given to other designated charities that applied for the fund in the first instance but was initially unsuccessful.

On commenting on the success of the past year Adrian said, “As a family-run business living within the Lincolnshire community we feel very proud that all the Elite customers supported our year of fund-raising so passionately and the Elite staff all pulled together to raise this amazing amount of cash for the five worthy causes chosen.” He went on to say, “Our family feel very strongly that we not only benefit as a business from our local communities but we also can give back something in the way of supporting each of the chosen charities. This allows them to provide such fantastic services for the Lincolnshire people.”

As a bonus to all the five nominated charities they were all given the option of holding their very own fish and chip evening at one of the Elite restaurants of their choice at no cost to the charities. They can sell tickets to the events and Elite will provide a fish and chip supper, and all takings from drinks on the evening will also be donated to each of the charities. With this fantastic gesture from the Elite Fish and Chip Company Adrian added, “We hope that all the five charities will continue to leave their charity collection boxes at each Elite unit so the friendships created with our business over the past year continues.”
