Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year - semi-finalists revealed

The NFFF would like to congratulate the ten young friers who have reached the semi-final of the Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year 2013 competition. The ten are:
Rachel Tweedale - Elite Fish & Chip Co, Sleaford
Amy Grimwood - Mr C^s, Selby
Luke Gibson - Burton Road Chippy, Lincoln
Leigh Foster - Pantrinis, Whitley Bay
Cem Oktem - Packet Bridge, Carnforth
Ryan Hughes - The Crispy Cod, Cardiff
Kat Deuchars - John Dory^s, Belfast
Matthew Martin - Mother Hubbards, Norfolk
Colin McGeoch - The Real Food Cafe, Stirling
Tom Hughes - Harbourside Fish & Chips, Plymouth
Starting in 1995, the competition was created by Briar Wilkinson and Kelvin Lee in memory of their late father Malcolm Lee, who always encouraged young people to succeed. Young friers have gone from strength to strength, highlighted by the large numbers of friers who enter the competition. Previous winners of the competition have gone on to win the Fish and Chip Shop of the Year award, and publicity and media attention is guaranteed.
