Deep Blue restaurants strike a pukka deal

Pukka Pies Back into Deep Blue Restaurants

Pukka Pies and Deep Blue have re-launched a partnership that has seen Pukka Pies return to all 18 Deep Blue Fish and Chip restaurants across the country.

Britain’s favourite branded pie, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, visited one of Deep Blue’s restaurants in Oxted with Great Britain and Leicester Ladies hockey star Katie Long to re-launch their partnership.

Pukka Pies were the original supplier to Deep Blue when the chain opened in 2003 and have returned following a revaluation of its strategy, having worked with another brand for a short period.

Colin Heathfield at Pukka Pies said; “We are delighted to be back supplying Pukka Pies again to Deep Blue. They are one of the biggest Fish and Chip Restaurants in the country and we will be running a number of initiatives to help them drive their pie sales in the future.”

James Low, Deep Blue’s CEO, added; “From the moment we opened our first shop in 2003, our objective was to offer local communities a consistently high standard of food and ultimately meet the demands of our customers. When our pie sales started to deteriorate, we took the decision to move back to Pukka Pies and the response has been fantastic.  Pukka’s clear recognition of the strength of the Deep Blue brand has also allowed us to develop a close strategic relationship which, we are sure, will benefit both parties.”

Pukka Pies recently launched a brand new “Have a Pukka Pie Day” national television advertising campaign and are proud sponsors of Leicester Ladies Hockey Club, the current national indoor and outdoor champions.

Pukka supplies a range of pies and pasties – including Steak and Kidney, Chicken and Mushroom, Minced Steak & Onion, All Steak and Steak and Ale – to hundreds of fish and chip shops, football stadiums and supermarkets across the country.
