The NFFF were delighted to welcome George Papadamou from Papa’s Fish and Chip to the NFFF Training Academy on the 10th April 2017 as part of the Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year Introductory Day. Vice President, Andrew Crook was present to congratulate George and the Papa’s team on winning the ‘Best of British Takeaways’ on BBC2.

The program involved a lot of work behind the scenes from Seafish and the NFFF. The show highlighted the history of fish and chips, the journey that the nation’s favourite meal has taken over the years and finished with pitting the wits of three fish and chip shops against each other in a series of challenges of which Papa’s came out victorious. Credit goes to Krispies of Exmouth and Hook of Camden who also took part in the show, representing themselves and the fish and chip industry.
