Award Winning Fish And Chip Shop Adopts Hospice As Charity!

Article Date: 2016-03-30

Scotts Fish and Chips, based in Helmsley and Bilbrough, has chosen York’s St Leonard’s Hospice as its chosen charity and will be doing a number of activities over the coming months to help raise funds for the hospice.

Tony Webster, owner of the business - which recently won the National Quality Award - said: "St Leonard’s is a great cause, and like our shops, they serve people from all walks of life. We wanted to get involved so are happy to support them as our chosen charity.

"It was great to see the Hospice mascot, Lenny, here today as well; he even helped out serving customers, and he clearly loves his fish and chips!”

Annie Keogh from St Leonard’s Hospice said: "We are really grateful to Scotts for their ongoing support. Businesses of all sizes support the hospice and it really helps us to get our message out to the community.

"We’re sorry that Lenny has eaten so many chips though – I don’t think he’ll be invited again!”
