ARE YOU READY FOR CHIP WEEK 2014?

With just a matter of weeks before Chip Week 2014 officially gets underway, now is the time for chip shops to prepare for one of the biggest events in the chipping calendar!

With free promotional material available to all registered shops, it’s time to put up your posters, hang your bunting and start shouting about your exciting events and promotions taking place during this year’s Chip Week.

Chip shops are being encouraged to support the campaign in as many engaging ways as possible such as running chip promotions, holding events or even donating chip profits to local charities - all of which are great platforms to increase customer awareness and encourage the local community to get involved, whilst boosting chip sales.

Stu Baker, campaign manager for Potato Council said: “As Chip Week edges closer, it’s time to start creating a real buzz around chip-inspired events or promotional offers you have planned – you’ll be surprised how quickly the news spreads!

“Whether you’re offering promotional deals such as buy one get one free (BOGOF) on a large portions of chips or holding a Chip Week charity day - the more you publicise your efforts, the more customers will join the campaign and support you.”

Countdown to the Choice Chip Awards…

What’s more, in just a matter of weeks entries to the Choice Chip Awards will be closed (Friday 8 February). Shops that have already registered to take part in Chip Week will have automatically been entered into the Choice Chip Awards and will receive dedicated material to encourage customers to vote.

Stu said: “The Awards are designed to recognise the best chips being served in the country, but it’s up to your customers to vote for you. Social media is a great tool to remind loyal customers to support your chips – why not schedule a couple of reminders on Facebook or Twitter over the coming weeks to encourage voting?

“Alternatively, customers can vote in-store; be sure to have your voting cards at the ready to receive as many votes as possible!”

It’s not too late to get involved!

If you’ve not registered for Chip Week 2014 yet, there’s still time to join the campaign. Chip Week can help you to stand out from the competition and is a great way to boost PR and awareness for your business, whilst increasing chip sales.
